Old Settler’s Music Festival

Was there something in the air in 1987? Old Settler’s Music Festival, Texas’ premier roots/Americana festival, launched the same year as MerleFest.
Held just 10 miles south of Austin, in a tree-shaded picnic grove, Old Settler’s is a largely volunteer crew hosts the event that benefits Campfire Boys and Girls, and the Austin charity Health Alliance for Musicians.
Among the Texans appearing at the fest are: Robert Earl Keen, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Sarah Jarosz, Dave Alvin, and Slim Richey. FestivaLink vets the Lee Boys, the Greencards, and Vince Herman are also part of the lineup.
